I’ve finally come to the end of COMETH THE HOUR, book six of The Clifton Chronicles, after a long session with my line editor, who discovered, among other things, that Lady Virginia was invited to a lunch at Harry’s Bar, and then a few pages later, the lunch took place at Mark’s Club….a simple mistake, but the sort of thing line editors love to catch.

I received an email this morning from a 97 year old woman, saying she feared she may not live to read books six and seven, so could I send her the latest. The book is out on February 25 next year, and I truly hope she (and indeed I, a mere 75) makes it.
